BE YOUR OWN SOUVENIR
The real tragedy in travel is that the souvenir you’re forced to bring home just doesn’t have any originality. It’s the same ole, same ole…shall I get the keychain or the snowglobe?
I think Barcelona ‘think tank’ blablabLAB took the bore out of that, their project BE YOUR OWN SOUVENIR let you make a 3D army figurine style souvenir of yourself! Aimed at connecting to street users, the project linked the arts and sciences with under-laying spaces and their own realities.
Unfortunately the project only ran for two weeks in January 2011, but you can still see video of the project in action here .
