THE WORLD STAGE: ISRAEL

Artist Kehinde Wiley’s World Stage projects are literally that. He goes in search of urban culture abroad - choosing his models from the respective places he visits. He paints them as they are and into backdrops that suggest the blending of his perceived notion of their cultural aspects with the actuality of the society they live in. Satiating a curiosity to find the familiar among the foreign.
