THE COLOR OF SOUND

Earlier in Oct we got an amazing opportunity to design a HAHA MAG button for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music Charity Event.

Now we’ve got the behind the scenes scoop on the days leading up to Flea’s 50th Birthday Celebration & Charity Event for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, the Los Angeles music school he founded 11 years ago.  Artist Dana Louise Kirkpatrick designed the invites for the shindig and sent us this blow-by-blow of the amazing pieces of art (Hirst, Banksy, Murakami, etc…) that were donated to be auctioned off to raise money for the School.  It’s basically art porn…enjoy.

New work from Banksy…
So you tell me, what’s the more valuable side of this painting? Where’s the worth? It’s always your decision - don’t forget that.

Check out this makeshift 150-seat cinema built under Waterloo train station for the Banksy preview of Exit Through the Gift Shop.  Lambeth Palace, as Banksy calls it, is a  dungeon-like auditorium with a popcorn stall, lounge bar, and street art adorning the walls.

The Independent writes “The foyer boasts a few of Banksy’s latest artworks. Against one brick wall, effigies of the Queen and Prince Philip are seen unveiling a big white anarchist sign. On another is a big Hollywood-style sign for production company, Paranoid Pictures. In a corner is a fake bonfire, burning a selection of 18th- and 19th-century paintings, portraits of Napoleon and Queen Victoria among them. There is an ice-cream van from which a youngish man with a goatee beard serves popcorn and soda.”
