BLIND ART

Not really…but these paintings do incorporate Braille. I have often wondered how the blind enjoy art since gallery’s & museums aren’t into letting you actually touch the pieces.

Underneath Roy Nachum’s oil paintings are tiny raised gesso pixels on the surface of his canvases that he sculpts with a pallet knife. These pixels mimics Braille’s system of raised cells in rectangular columns, embedded in them are written messages, poems or quotes which he says offers the blind a way into his art.
